MEET ME
Hi there! I cannot thank you enough for visiting my page and taking the time to get to know me! Like most women, I am a multitude of things, including a wife, a mother and a career woman. I studied two degrees back in the day and fell in love with a man who had just as much as love for cattle, as much as he had for me. Lucky there was enough room in that heart of his! While excelling in our careers we married and soon after we became parents! However, once becoming a mother, I switched my career to part time to raise our family because you'll never get the time again with your babies! But I still needed adult interaction hence part time! Now with another baby, trying to slow down is not an option when you already have a toddler and of course here I am starting something new!
SO, HOW DID THIS START?
During my pregnancy with my first - I was determined to have everything necessary for our new bundle of crazy (because he is!) and planned to go into hospital to have a natural birth that didn't quite work out that way. Before birth, preparing my hospital bag - maybe like you - I only focused on the baby's needs and completely forgot about what I required even down to the type of clothes I needed for breastfeeding. I was also so focused on making sure that we had everything for our first born, I didn't even have the essentials to get me through my postpartum recovery - never crossed my mind! Didn't even think to research what I may of needed besides the good old breastfeeding bra - yikes I know!

I was however, fortunate enough to have a close friend post me some basic products, which was extremely helpful containing nipple balm, witches hazel, nursing pads and even stool softener. I thought her gesture was so nice and required that I made packages for other expecting friends and they all loved it! Why? Because, they too had no idea what to expect from birth let alone afterwards.

So while I was making these little packages for my expecting friends, providing little tips and tricks with the products I put in, trying to make it affordable but essential - I was thinking 'why I am not doing this for other mothers?'! I want to help other women become aware of their recovery, I want to be a part of their village!

When preparing for my second, I was so much more conscience about what I needed - because if I'm not recovering to my full potential how am I supposed to raise a new born as well as a toddler!? I asked all my friends whom had natural births what they wished they had post-birth and they gave me a good list! So now here is 'Swaddle up Mum'.
